A clear starting point

Terms of Use

The agreement for using Peyla, explained in plain language.

Effective September 9, 2026

1. Using Peyla

These terms cover the Peyla app, website and related services. By using Peyla, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Peyla is intended for people aged 18 and over.

The app license is governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These terms explain Peyla’s service features and do not replace Apple’s license or override mandatory consumer rights. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.

2. Wellbeing, not healthcare

Peyla offers tools for everyday wellbeing, including breathing, grounding, habits, check-ins and reflection. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, medical advice, psychotherapy or crisis care. No particular health or wellbeing result is guaranteed.

If you may be in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department. You can also find local support at Find A Helpline. Peyla and its support email are not monitored as emergency services.

Consult a qualified professional about medical or mental-health concerns. Do not delay care because of app content. Stop a breathing or movement exercise if it causes discomfort, dizziness or distress, and do not use exercises while driving or doing something that requires full attention.

3. Peyla Plus and payments

Peyla’s main features require an active Peyla Plus subscription. The available plans, billing period, full price, currency and any applicable introductory offer are shown in the app before purchase. Only an offer actually displayed at checkout applies; downloading the app does not by itself include a free trial.

Apple charges your Apple Account when a purchase is confirmed. Auto-renewable subscriptions continue unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, with renewal charged during the final 24 hours. Manage or cancel from your Apple Account’s subscription settings. Access ordinarily continues through the paid period after cancellation.

Use Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used for the purchase to recover an eligible subscription. An expired subscription does not become active through restoration. Deleting the app, local data or a cloud account does not cancel billing. Apple handles refund requests through Report a Problem, subject to its rules and applicable law.

Changes to subscription prices or billing follow Apple’s notice and consent requirements. These terms do not waive cancellation, refund or other rights granted by law.

4. Your content and optional AI

You keep your rights to journal entries and other material you create. You grant only the permission needed to process that material for features you request, such as backup or an AI reflection. Do not submit material you have no right to share. Your journal is not a public social feed.

AI reflections use Google Gemini and require separate permission. Each requested reflection shares the selected entry and language preference as explained before use and in the Privacy Policy. AI can be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate; it does not know your full circumstances and is not professional advice. Review its suggestions critically and decide what is suitable for you.

AI features require an internet connection, supported service availability and an eligible subscription. Safety checks and reasonable usage limits can prevent a request. We do not promise unlimited, uninterrupted or error-free generation. You can turn off future AI sharing in Settings and continue using your journal.

5. Backup, account and your device

Everyday local use does not require a separate Peyla cloud account. Optional backup uses Sign in with Apple. Keep your device and Apple Account secure and do not share authentication codes.

Backup is manual and stores one current snapshot. A new backup replaces the prior snapshot. Restoring replaces local app records with the checked snapshot. Review the in-app confirmation before proceeding. A backup is encrypted, but Peyla can recover its key after authentication; it is not end-to-end encrypted against the operator.

You can delete a cloud backup or cloud account from Backup & restore. Local deletion, cloud deletion and subscription cancellation are separate actions. Keep an exported copy if you need records independently of Peyla. No backup service can guarantee recovery in every circumstance.

6. Acceptable use

Use Peyla lawfully. Do not attempt to access someone else’s account, bypass security or subscription checks, overload the service, distribute malicious code, exploit vulnerabilities, or use AI features to generate unlawful or harmful content. Report security issues privately to [email protected].

Peyla’s branding, artwork and app materials belong to their respective owners. You may use them as part of the licensed app experience; these terms do not grant permission to redistribute or sell them. Open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses.

7. Availability, changes and ending use

Online features can be interrupted by maintenance, connectivity or provider outages. We may improve or change features and make changes needed for security or legal compliance. Material changes affecting an existing paid service will be handled with the notice and remedies required by applicable law.

We may restrict online access for misuse or security concerns, proportionately and subject to applicable law. You may stop using Peyla at any time. Cancel a subscription separately through Apple if you do not want it to renew. Where account access is restricted, contact support about your data and any applicable remedies.

Updates to these terms will show a new effective date. We will provide additional notice or request agreement when required. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights you already have.

8. Your rights and our responsibility

Peyla is a general wellbeing service. Features are provided subject to reasonable technical limitations; no guarantee of a specific result is made. Responsibility for the app license is governed by Apple’s Standard EULA and applicable law.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, limits mandatory consumer guarantees, or removes privacy rights. If local law gives you more protection, that protection applies. These terms do not require arbitration or prevent you from bringing a claim in a court available under applicable consumer law.

Third-party services linked from Peyla have their own terms. Apple is not a party to these additional service terms and is not responsible for Peyla’s wellbeing content or support.
